Dynamic Symmetry Armature plus Rebated Squares. From time to time we like to use a wider format such as the popular 2:1 (Root 4:1) format. The proportion often works well with a landscape. Unfortunately, the Dynamic Symmetry armature puts the polar points of the wider format too close to the corners for our taste. But the intersections of the diagonals with their reciprocals don’t have to be the focal points. In this armature, four other intersections stand out as possible focal points In any case, when I designed this particular painting, The right-hand main tree was designed to lie within the main area of interest. It should be dark enough to throw the back mountains into the distance. In addition, the golden light on the ground plane leads the eye around the painting.
