22x15, Watercolor, NFS

During the 70s we lived in a loft on Chambers Street in TriBeca, whille I was in graduate school in Mathematics (a 20 minute walk up to the Village). These were turbulent times. When I saw Thomas Schaller's Chambers St painting, I knew this was the right place to start. I love his work and hope to learn a lot from his videos and artwork - perhaps even from classes, as I begin my watercolor journey again. I changed the details a bit, trying to create peace marchers rather than suit-folk. This thn will remind me of the times we hosted marches on City Hall, protesting the War in Vietnam. We would leave the loft and march down Chambers Street to Broadway, and from there a few blocks south to City Hall. At my family's San Diego home, selected by the family from a series painted during the winter of 2022. Gift to family.
