A favorite venue, down Buckman Road, a few miles from my Santa Fe home as the crow flies. But the washboard road requires a little time to reach. Weekends are busy with hikers - or shall I say, rock climbers. One of my fondest memories (the extent of my climbing days) is of climbing up and down the steep mountains in Manoa Valley, Honolulu, with my Hawaiian boyfriend while in high school. We even slid down some of the steepest gullies/ridges on ti leaves! Diablo Canyon is out on Buckman Road to the north and west of Santa Fe on a washboard road. However, it's easier to navigate than it once was. I was able to drive 40 mph and reached the canyon in 22 minutes from my house! I shall return.
