2016 - New and Sold Paintings during the year 2016

2006 has been a joyful and productive painting year. This is a list of paintings at galleries and/or sold this year to remind myself of this. And to look forward to another year filled with activity centered around this central passion. Click on any image to find where you might see the work, either at my new gallery on Canyon Road, the Marigold Arts Gallery, or at the Purple Sage Gallery in Albuquerque or at Karen's Studio and Gallery. Painting sold at the 2016 Plein Air Convention exhibit space in Tucson, April.

Artists could exhibit a painting. The convention had many wonderful paintings to view. My "Sedona Cliffs" painting sold!. At the end of the convention I picked up my painting and walked it over to the counter. The receptionist returned from the computer with a puzzled look on her face: "It's sold!". But I said "Here it is; it couldn't have". Well the buyer was just purchasing it. He said he walked by the painting many times and just had to have it! I created a larger version after the convention, which is listed under "Available".

North Shore Oahu Paintings

My new Hawaii paintings while on the North Shore of Oahu January 2016. I was thrilled to be back in my home 'island'; a very nostalgic painting trip. I can still hear the ocean waves and smell the aroma of plumeria and ginger in the air.

Santa Fe Art Collectors' Gallery Exhibit. Oct 2015.

This is the annual juried Plein Air Painters of New Mexico Members' Exhibit. The painting chosen to be in this exhibit was "Chama Towers". I painted this last June 12 miles down the Monastery Road at an ox-bow in the Chama River. The road to get there is a notoriously difficult road, 1-lane, dirt, winding. Don't go down the road during snow or rain. But this is my favorite painting location. Perhaps I'll add some photos of the location taken over the years. Opening Reception, Oct 2, 5-, 2015.

Biologique: NM Art League Exhibit. Oct - Nov 2015.

Natural design is a source of infinite variety and form. It can follow complex patterns that can repeat, scale, and progress with incredible complexity and aesthetic beauty. Artists are often moved to capture the whims of Mother Nature and in the process of artistic discovery we have unearthed amazing constants such as the “Golden Mean”, the Fibonacci sequence, Pi, fractals, and mathematical harmony. Nature can display these in the form of storms, erosion, trees, flowers, shells, feathers, and endless other ways. Artists may depict them, whether rooted in reality or imagination, through drawing, painting, photography, or other creative methods. Is your art inspired by the unique aspects of nature? The New Mexico Art League invited contemporary and traditional artists to participate in this unique art exhibition. Opening Reception, Albuquerque.,Oct. 17,5-7:30 My paintings curated into the show are "Cloud Fractals: and "Chama Striations". They are both exhibited at the Purple Sage Gallery now, www. purplesagegallery.biz

Art Opening: InArt Gallery on Delgado: 2015 Santa Fe Plein Air Festival Exhibition, Friday, June 12, 2015, 5-7

Exhibition included 2 plein air works from each of 51 juried artists painted during the week prior to the exhibition opening. See the details by clicking on the evite image below. The exhibition ran through July 5 at the InArt gallery:(http://www.inartsantafe.com/html/home.asp). I did the Santa Fe River scene at the Quick Draw and Sale on Friday, with other painters along the Santa Fe River on Alameda. I needed to enhance the QD painting as it was too dark in mood. It could use still more work but I am not unhappy with it. In fact, it inspired me to do more paintings at the river while the water is flowing. See Recent works. I have added a few paintings I executed during the week. And chose the Pedernal Guards and Abiquiu Rocks for the exhibition. Note that the Abiquiu Rocks sold! More details are available on the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico website, www.papnm.org.
